DotPe uses Google Pay's Spot Programme to empower offline partner restaurants

DotPe envisions onboarding 5 lakh merchants by December 2020 to leverage its contactless dining solution and revolutionise offline retail in the country.

Aiding the restaurants in gaining visibility in the online sphere, Gurgaon based O2O commerce and fintech platform, DotPe, has availed Google Pay's Spot Programme to enable hyperlocal discovery and online ordering for its offline partners such as restaurants.

Commenting on the alliance, Shailaz Nag, Co-Founder and CEO, DotPe said, "Since our inception, democratising technology by tapping into open platforms has been our primary focus. By utilizing our digital transformation solution, our restaurant partners can now tap on to the huge hyperlocal consumer base of Google Pay. We are sure about observing a noteworthy surge in business of our partners, given the importance of hyperlocal discovery and convenience of ordering for the offline retail industry in the current times."

This initiative intends to empower restaurants. Restaurants can share their online catalogue directly with their customers via DotPe's Spot on Google Pay. Customers can use the Google Pay app to discover nearby restaurants, access their online catalogue, place online orders, pick up orders, and get home delivery orders. The payment can be made using DotPe's Spot on Google Pay. At first, the collaboration will create hyperlocal demand and discovery for the F&B industry and will gradually cover other categories like Groceries, Pharmacy, and more.

The technology startup, DotPe, provides neo digital transformation and commerce solutions to retail businesses. With this tie-up, Dotpe's partner restaurants will be able to upload their online catalogue directly onto DotPe's Spot on Google Pay to get hyperlocal discovery and pick up home delivery orders. This feature eliminates the need for a restaurant to rely on any third-party aggregator app.

This channel can be seen as a big win for the F&B industry. The deep penetration in the market and adoption of the Google Pay app among consumers assures instant hyperlocal demand for DotPe's restaurant partners. They are thereby creating an independent online demand channel for businesses.
