Chef Mohammed Eliyaz Appointed as Chef de Cuisine at JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru

His flourishing career of over 10 years has seen him work with renowned Michelin Starred Italian Chefs who continue to have great influence on him. In his new role, he is responsible for taking care of culinary operations at ALBA, as well as guiding his new team of enthusiastic chefs.

BENGALURU CITY'S finest premium luxury hotel JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru, has appointed Mohammed Eliyaz as the new Chef de Cuisine of the hotel. Eliyaz is a young and vibrant individual with an unmatchable craft in Italian Cuisine, and brings with him a vast knowledge of the Indian palate. His flourishing career of over 10 years has seen him work with renowned Michelin Starred Italian Chefs who continue to have great influence on him. In his new role, he is responsible for taking care of culinary operations at ALBA, as well as guiding his new team of enthusiastic chefs.

Chef Eliyaz is known to adopt innovative and unique approaches in the kitchen, which is his among his most defining characteristics. He brings simple yet sophisticated, authentic Italian food to the table for not just the discerning set of connoisseurs, but also to satiate palates of all levels of experience. He has had an incredible journey so far that has seen him curate some of the best Italian fairs under the guidance of established names in the culinary world. His passion for food and perseverance towards creating timeless experiences has allowed him to master the phenomenon of being a Chef of Italian cuisine, yet in possession of an Indian heart and edge.

Eliyaz’s first pit stop was at ITC Fortune Hotel in Bengaluru, where he was Hotel Operational Trainee for a period of 8 months in 2010 before moving to The Oberoi New Delhi in January 2011where he held various challenging roles over a period of five years that saw him as Kitchen Assistant for their World Cuisine Restaurant, Threesixty to Chef de Partie for Banquets, and Chef de Partie for Travertino that shaped his career with commendable exposure and experience.

Chef Eliyaz did a short stint at ITC Maurya in New Delhi from November 2015 to December 2016, where he successfully opened ‘Ottimo At Westview’ with ITC’s brand custodian Chef Greco Vittorio. He spent his following years at Hyatt Regency Delhi as Sous Chef of La Piazza, successfully opened ‘HOUSE A’ where he was entrusted to look into complete designing and execution of the project before heading towards the post of Chef in charge of La Piazza.

Chef Eliyaz hails from Hyderabad and a defense background, which is reflected in how successfully he multitasks. Among his most prized memories is his work experience with Michelin star chefs such as Chef Francesco Apreda, Chef Dominic Chapman and Chef Fellice Le Basso, among other established names.
