GIVING A platform to his Hobby, Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur has launched ‘TravelWithKunal’ , a seven episode web series capturing his food, wine and wild life experience in south Australia. BW Hotelier caught up with Kapur, to know more about the idea behind the series.

“Travel has always been one of my passions. In my trade, to know more about the food one need to travel a lot and for me, travelling, photography, cooking and doing research work on food is a common passion with a single thread to it. For me ‘TravelWithKunal’ is more of displaying my work to those who are interested in it,” kapur told us.

Speaking about selecting South Australia for his series, Kapur said, “I have been visiting Australia for several times. This was the first time I was visiting the South part of Australia. It is closer to nature and there is lot to discover here, be it adventure, food, wildlife or wine. I came across some of the indigenous ingredients like salt bush which are not available in the Indian Market.”

Adding more to this he said, “This series will give the insights of the South Australia which is not touched by all the travellers. From discovering Kangaroo Island, Seal Bay Conservation Park to The Enchanted Fig Tree restaurant, there is so much a viewer can enjoy.”

Kapur also introduced Barossa Valley to his audience, one of the world’s great wine growing areas and home to the world-famous Jacob Creeks’ wine along with other famous vineyards across the state of South Australia.

When asked why he did not choose a television platform for his series, he answered, “Television comes with its own challenges. Having a slot and getting sponsors is not an easy task to do whereas I do not intend to commercialise my series. It is out of my pure passion.”
