Chef Akshay Pandit Appointed As Executive Sous Chef at Two Marriott Properties

Chef Akshay Pandit has mastered in culinary art by completing his diploma from Rizvi College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. He participated in the Kitchen Executive Trainee Program by The Leela Palace Bangalore. He has also been certified by Tap Series and Serve Safe for responsible handling of Food and Beverages along with maintaining safety standards.

CHEF AKSHAY Pandit brings with him a decade of culinary experience to Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel & Lakeside Chalet - Marriott Executive Apartments. As the Executive Sous Chef, he will be responsible for overlooking the kitchen operations in all the restaurants in both the properties and management of the entire kitchen crew.

He has worked with established brands such as J.W Marriott, The Westin and The Leela. His area of expertise is French, Italian, Spanish, Mexican, Mediterranean, Japanese, Thai, Chinese and German Cuisine.  An extremely driven professional, Akshay is involved in the planning, execution and supervision of the Kitchen activities from preparing menus, developing quality standards and working on restaurant concepts. Pandit believes that his impeccable attention to minute details and hard work has led to his success in the hospitality field.

Chef joins Renaissance Mumbai from J.W Marriott Bengaluru where he served as the Chef De Cuisine. During his stint at J.W Marriott, he has led the banqueting team for the prestigious Indian Aero Show 2017 and the Golf shire Club Event. He has worked with prestigious hotels across India from Kochi Marriott, The Westin-Chennai and The Leela Mumbai.

Pandit has won several accolades like ‘Gold Medal’ in Hans Bueschkens World Chefs Challenge at National Level held by Indian Federation of Culinary Associations, Hyderabad November 2009.  ‘Bronze Medal’ at the Great Indian Culinary Challenge from Western India Chefs Association in January 2012 and a ‘Silver Medal’ in Hans Bueschkens World Chefs Challenge at State Level held by Western India Culinary Association, Mumbai 2009.

In his leisure time, Pandit loves keeping himself abreast with the latest trends in F&B and the technology industry. His passion for contemporary gastronomy and honed European techniques, paves the way for a sophisticated and innovative dining experience. He is also a connoisseur of fine art and design.
