Barbeque Nation Raised Rs26.75 Lakh for HelpAge India.

The organization also contributed a rupee each for engagement on social media, using the hashtag campaign, #GrillForACause, which was promoted on Twitter, Facebook and a microsite, www.mybarbequenation.com, created for the same.

BARBEQUE NATION, celebrated the occasion of operating more than 100 outlets in the country. The brand embarked upon a unique initiative to give back to the society to mark the occasion and associated with ‘HelpAge India’, a not for profit organization, caring for disadvantaged elderly citizens and contributed to the cause.

Barbeque Nation initiated a weeklong event from 28th March to 3rd April, calling upon people to dine at the restaurant and join the enterprise by making a voluntary contribution which would be channelized through the NGO to support the elderly in need. Kayum Dhanani, Managing Director, Barbeque Nation Hospitality Ltd, who was present at the event, handed over a cheque of Rs26.75 Lakh raised through the campaign, to Mathew Cherian, CEO of HelpAge India.

Barbeque Nation’s 100th outlet was launched recently in Dimapur in Nagaland and the organization celebrated this achievement at the restaurant’s Ambience mall outlet in Gurugram. Celebrity Chef, Vikas Khanna, was the guest of honour at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhanani said, “It is our privilege to be associated with ‘HelpAge India’ and make a contribution towards the welfare of the elderly who are in dire need of support. We are extremely delighted to organize this event which also celebrates the milestone of Barbeque Nation reaching 100 outlets in India, with the added joy of giving back to society for a cause.”

Chef Khanna, in support of HelpAge India said, “The West was always jealous of India by its values and its family system. This is our root and we should never forget it. The initiative that Barbeque Nation has taken is commendable and much appreciated.”

Barbeque Nation has been associated with HelpAge India for a long time by donating the amount of Tip that customer wants to pay to the HelpAge India. In the total amount of Rs26.75 Lakh raised, Rs25 Lakh has been contributed by the company itself while the rest has been raised by the loyal customers of Barbeque Nation.
