Avijit Deb Sharma New Executive Chef at Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai Airport

Trained from IHM Bangalore, Sharma began his culinary journey at the Oberoi Amarvilas Agra. He then went on to work with well-established Indian brands like the Leela & Taj for over 5 years.

CHEF AVIJIT Sharma has been recently appointed as the Executive Chef of Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport. With an illustrious career of over 14 years in the hospitality industry, Sharma brings with him an extensive experience in handling operations, staffing and training, developing and implementing concepts and new trends. His passion, experience, sensibility and dedication to food in all its forms have seen him evolve and develop into a dynamic personality, adapting to various roles.

Trained from IHM Bangalore, Sharma began his culinary journey at the Oberoi Amarvilas Agra. He then went on to work with well-established Indian brands like the Leela & Taj for over 5 years. In these years, he was promoted almost every alternate year before he joined Ista Hyderabad (now The Hyatt) in the capacity of Executive Sous Chef. Before joining Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport, Sharma was the Executive Sous Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore. He was also the Executive Chef of Park Hyatt Resort & Spa Goa prior to this.

Born and raised in a suburban district called Hooghly in West Bengal, Sharma always wanted to be a chef and it all started with his interest for cooking at home. Along with having such great passion for cooking, Sharma brings expertise not only from India but from France, Spain, Italy and Middle East.
