Awarded the Best General Manager of Western Region – Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) for 2017-2018, Anmol Ahluwalia is known for his passion and commitment to see his vision through. His dedication, commitment and hard work has been rewarded with his movement as General Manager - North Goa in charge of two of the most coveted hotels of the favourite holiday destinations.
Starting his professional tenure as a Housekeeping Management Trainee with The Oberoi Hotels,Anmol has come a long way to achieve his goals. With the IHCL since 2005, he has almost 2 decades of experience in luxury hospitality. Over the years he has had a rich and varied experience and spearheaded the Housekeeping and Accommodations for various prestigious hotels across IHCL including Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa (Goa), Taj Bengal (Kolkata), Taj Chandigarh, Taj Lands End (Mumbai) and Vivanta Panaji (Goa) before being appointed as General Manager of Taj Wellington Mews (Mumbai) in 2005 with the added portfolio as Head of Centre of Excellence Housekeeping and Accommodations for IHCL in 2017.
He has pioneered several innovative initiatives, from creating unique bespoke experiences to elevating the standard of luxury residences in India. He has put in place mechanisms for quality improvement, making it an extension of his perfectionist self. Employee engagement is just as important as guest satisfaction for him. After all, it’s the people who build the industry, he feels.
An over achiever, Anmol was selected for the Emerging Leader program (EL) of IHCL and was selected for the Managed Best Practice Lab Champion (BPL) for the IHCL Leisure Hotels (30 hotels) and was responsible for implementing processes and styling the properties. Among his other achievements, he managed the Members Network Communicator (MNC) program for Taj Fort Aguada Resort & Spa (Goa), Taj Chandigarh and Vivanta Panaji (Goa) and also won the Young Executive Housekeeper of the Year, by FHRAI (2006-2007).
A graduate of IHM with an Advance Diploma in Hotel Management from OCLD, Anmol believes education is just as important as life’s lessons. That would explain his penchant for garnering more and more knowledge over the years. Always one to hone his skills, Anmol actively participated in the General Manager Cross Exposure training for four months at Taj Mahal Hotel (New Delhi) and Taj Rambagh Palace (Jaipur) and also excelled in the LDP (Leadership Development Workshop) with IHCL. In addition, he has attended the Tata Group Emerging Leadership Program for three weeks in Tata Management Training Centre, Pune and has been a part of the General Manager Development Centre in Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad (First and Third Phase) and in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (Second Phase).
