Andaz Delhi receives GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation

Demonstrating preparedness to respond and recover from outbreaks and pandemics, Andaz Delhi recently received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accreditation.

Andaz Delhi recently received the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accreditation, regarded as the gold standard for prepared facilities. Having employed a strict cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention protocol in the hotel, the accreditation adds to the safety assurance provided by the hotel.

“GBAC STAR accreditation empowers facility owners and managers to assure workers, customers and key stakeholders that they have proven systems in place to maintain clean and healthy environments,” said Patricia Olinger, Director, GBAC Executive.

She further added, “By taking this important step to pursue GBAC STAR, Andaz Delhi has received third-party validation that it follows strict protocols for biorisk situations, thereby demonstrating its preparedness and commitment to operating safely.”

The accreditation proves that Andaz Delhi has the necessary tools and training to prepare for, respond to and recover from outbreaks and pandemics. It was granted to Andaz Delhi after checking its compliance with the program’s 20 core elements, ranging from standard operating procedures, risk assessment strategies, personal protective equipment, emergency preparedness to response measures.

GBAC STAR is the only accreditation that assesses the outbreak prevention, response, readiness for biorisk situations and recovery of a facility. It also formulates protocols and procedures for organisations and offers training to tackle the issues.
