Air France Launches Fourth Indian Gateway

These flights will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a capacity of 279 seats. Currently Air France operates flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

AIR FRANCE is expanding its Indian network to include Chennai with thrice weekly direct services to Paris Charles de Gaulle starting, opening more opportunities for travel from India to the world.

These flights will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a capacity of 279 seats. Currently Air France operates flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Jean – Noel Rault, General Manager, Air France – KLM, Indian Sub-Continent said, “We are delighted to be back in Chennai with the launch of direct services to Paris-Charles de Gaulle. Chennai will be our fourth gateway in India and the second in South India. This start emphasizes the group’s commitment to further strengthen our presence in India. The thrice-weekly connection will open up more travel opportunities for the Indian customers and the new generation aircraft 787 Dreamliner will ensure a high – quality experience on board”

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a new generation aircraft with enhanced features:

  • On-board WiFi adapted to customers’ needs and expectations;
  • Windows that are approximately 30% larger than on similar aircraft;
  • Improved air pressure and humidity levels for greater travel comfort.
  • 20% less fuel consumption than previous generation aircraft;
  • A significant reduction in CO2 emissions (about 20%) as well as noise emissions.

For the 2020 summer season, Air France will operate 24 weekly flights from the 4 destinations. KLM will operate14 weekly flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Air France-KLM will operate 38 weekly flights from India to its two hubs at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol.

Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) is the home base of Air France. Over the years the airport has transformed for the well-being and ease of customers including those in transit.

At CDG, Air France has multicultural teams familiar with the specific expectations of its international customers, including Indian customers.
