ACCORHOTELS HAS brought yet another brand from its kitty into India, with the launch of the 197-room ibis Styles in Goa. The hotel was launched among much excitement last night in the presence of Jean-Michel Casse, Senior Vice-President, Operations, AccorHotels India and J. B. Singh, President and CEO, InterGlobe Hotels, a joint venture between InterGlobe Enterprises and Accor Asia Pacific, established in 2004, to develop a network of ibis hotels in India.
While this is AccorHotels’ 43rd hotel in the country, it is the first ibis Styles. Ibis Styles is AccorHotels’ economy brand but it offers unique design experiences in a myriad of styles, unlike the vanilla ibis properties.
Ibis Styles Goa Calangute is walking distance from Tivai Beach and is nestled between Calangute and Candolim beaches. The hotel is divided into two sections with one catering to families having a children play area, a swimming pool and a children’s pool. The family section has 137 rooms with a number of rooms inter-connected. The other area with 60 rooms is meant for couples, single guests, group of friends, etc. This too has its own swimming pool. The hotel is designed in such a way that all rooms have a pool view.
Unlike ibis hotels, the ibis Styles is a more resort-like property. “It is a trendy, unique, colourful and vibrant brand meant to give guests the right value at the right price,” said Casse. All rooms in the hotel are the same category, only difference being that some are twin and some have queen-sized beds. Room rates are expected to vary between Rs 5,000-12,000 per night depending upon the season.
The hotel also features a 2200 sq ft, conference room and banquet facility that can accommodate over 180 guests. “The hotel is ideal for families planning a holiday or corporate looking for off-sites or team building exercises,” said Nikheel Shirodkar, General Manager, ibis Styles Goa Calangute.
The hotel has one restaurant called Spice It which serves both buffet and a la carte. The bar called The Hub serves a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
Ibis Styles Goa Calangute is the 14th hotel opened as part of the JV between Interglobe Enterprises and Accor Asia Pacific.
