During his 17 years in the hospitality industry, Malik has been responsible for managing Rooms Division verticals and Food & Beverage assets of a number of leading luxury hotels in India.

ABHISHEK MALIK has been appointed the Director of Operations at JW Marriott Pune. In his new role, he will be leading business and strategic operations of the property and will be responsible for implementing the brand service strategy and initiatives. He will also be working with various department heads to develop and implement respective departmental strategies.

During his 17 years in the hospitality industry, he has been responsible for managing Rooms Division verticals and Food & Beverage assets of a number of leading luxury hotels in India.

He began his journey with The Oberoi, New Delhi, and has also worked at The Oberoi Rajvilas Jaipur, opened The Leela Palace New Delhi, Fortis Memorial Research Institute Gurgaon and Palladium Hotel, Mumbai (now St. Regis, Mumbai). In his most recent role, he was General Manager Hospitality at Mustafa Sultan Enterprises LLC, Oman.

After having successfully launched The Leela Palace New Delhi, Malik also led a young and passionate team at Palladium Hotel Mumbai (now St Regis Mumbai) that won the Condé Nast Readers Travel Awards for the Favourite New Leisure Hotel Runners Up in 2014.  With a strong luxury background, he has also incorporated the finest standards of luxury hospitality within the healthcare sector at FMRI Gurgaon. He received the Sparkle Guru Award in 2013 by Fortis Healthcare for innovative measures in maintaining the highest quality of housekeeping and infection control practices.

Malik studied at The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development, New Delhi, which is recognised internationally as one of the leading schools of Hotel Management. He gained specialized and technical training in all aspects of hotel management at the centre and was placed at various Oberoi Hotels & Resorts.

An alumnus of Institute of Hotel Management Chennai, Malik also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Annamalai University, Chidambaram.
